Cheech brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our rhythmic flow. His extensive musical background includes an early start with the "Variations", a local New Jersey trio, where he first met, JJ Slim guitarist, Mark Siet. There they formed a musical partnership relying on their unique ability to listen and play together. This produced their amazing ability to switch musical direction simultaneously offering a seamless flow to their music. Cheech went on to manage the Record Plant in New York City, acting as Plant Manager during the recording of John Lennons last recorded album "Fantasy". Cheech is an excellent writer producing the copy for numerous articles for "Modern Drummer" magazine throughout the years. He has interviewed all of the drumming greats from Ralph MacDonald, Steve Gadd, Cozy Cole, to name a few. Cheech also is providing all the press releases for JJ Slim lending his talents to promotion and publicity. JJ Slim is fortunate to have one of America's foremost drummers laying down the unstoppable grooves that are an integral part of their signature sound.
